Audit method

A practical sequence for asset verification audit work

Software alone does not create assurance. This page outlines the operating sequence we teach around an asset verification audit app.

  1. Freeze the taxonomy

Agree which asset classes, statuses, and locations are in scope before anyone opens the app. Ambiguous labels are the most common source of false variances.

  2. Set capture rules

Decide what evidence is mandatory: serial photo, geotag, custodian initials. Configure the asset verification audit app to reject incomplete records instead of accepting them for later cleanup.

  3. Run the field pass

Count in planned waves. Track coverage by zone so overnight shifts do not leave silent gaps.

  4. Triage exceptions

Separate timing differences from true misses. Assign owners and due dates inside the same system that holds the photos.

  5. Close with a sample pack

Export a pack auditors can sample: evidence IDs, narratives, and a change log. Retain according to your organisation’s policy.
